The quality of our lives are determined by the quality of the questions we ask ourselves.
I think Anthony Robbins said that. If we ask ourselves great questions, then we will have great lives.
What should I eat today? This is probably not a great quality of life question.
How do I get out of doing that presentation for my boss? Another not so great quality of life question.
What do I really want out of life? Great quality of life question. And how do I go about achieving what I want? And how do I do it quicker? And what can I do right now that will move me the fastest and furthest towards achieving what I want? If I get better and better at asking and then learning to answer these questions then I will have a better quality of life.
I know what I want. And it is not just about money. I have a number of figures in mind and these keep changing. A thousand miles or fifteen hundred miles is not going to make much difference to a snail unless he can find a way to tag on the back of interstate trucks. Likewise, from someone earning zero, $1 million or $5 million a month doesn’t seem like a huge issue unless I can start earning $50 thousand or $500 thousand a month. But I have a very clear idea of what that money can buy. What kind of lifestyle I will be able to lead with my wife. And I am clear how I want to help my friends and family. So what questions should I be asking myself.
How do I totally and irreversibly transform my life from one of lack to one of unreasonable wealth inside of twelve months? That is a pretty good question to start answering! And if I give every thought and every effort to answering this question, then I am not worrying about what people think of me, or my ego or being right. I am purely interested in answering this question.
As Robert Collier said ‘Make every thought, every fact, that comes into your mind pay you a profit. Make it work and produce for you. Think of things not as they are but as they may be. Don’t merely dream but create!’
